Sean Connery + Will Arnett

Anyone else notice the striking resemblence between Jean and Sean? More precisely, he seemed to have the characteristics of Will Arnett but with some of the striking features and gait of Sean Connery during his early years as 007.

As for the movie...I thought it was almost pitch perfect. Given its modest budget I guess I couldn't have expected too much (though I was hoping for one more action sequence).

The look and styling of the film were great, though, and I love movies filmed like this...they feel so vibrant and captivating. Dujardin's charmingly suave meets bombastically naive performance also helped make the movie fun enough to be entertaining without being too over-the-top. Really great stuff.

I totally agree with you. Just watch closely Jean's face in OSS 117 and you can see someone has been studying Sean Connery's facial expressions in Goldfinger.

In the "Making of" featurette on the DVD , they go into more detail about how they designed and filmed the movie much in the style of the early "Dr.No" Bond movies. From the color scheme to the actual film lighting used, it was all authentic to the period. They even talked about how Jean looks like Sean in some scenes, ie. walking though the hotel and his poses. His gun stance was the first thing I noticed and that weird crouching stance.

Another mannerism was the leg up on cars and sofas when Hubert is talking to a woman. I didn't believe it until I went back to watch old Bond movies but Bond stands the same way.

My favorite scene is still the beginning with the stew code words and then they order the same thing in the restaurant.
