A friend of mine was taping this - he saw the credits start to roll and stopped his VCR, only to find when he watched it back that the credits were intercut with bits from the last scene. I was hoping you guys would be able to help answer his question -

he wants to know if the couple ended up together or not...?

Pity he missed the ending - but really you can't tell - it's left very open!
