Movie released in Australia

Does anyone know if this movie has been or will be released in Australia? It wasn't on cinemas, but maybe if we're lucky we might get the DVD?

reply

I saw an interview with Oscar Kightley tonight and he said it most likely will be released in Australia but it's up to South Pacfic Pictures. With the success of Sione's Wedding i'm pretty sure it will be.

reply

It most likely will be. Look at me talking as if I'm somehow connected with the movie...

I've also heard some people in England have managed to get their hands on copied DVDs, which is pretty sad, I think.

reply

Everyone gets copies of the dvd ,esp the ones in Sth Auck. (Haha) Its reality I guess ,bet all the folk who went to see it in the cinema were white
All the brown folk got it off the back of a truck ;)

reply

That's not something to be proud of, romancarson2000. South Auckland people are already painted with the 'thief' brush — I wouldn't go promoting piracy as if it were something you should be arrogant about.

reply

I agree. Not all brown people opted for the pirated copies instead of actually going to the cinema, in fact all the people i know that saw the pirated copies are now embarassed especially after all the bad press about it, and so they should be. It's good to see the film is still doing well regardless.

In Mangere, the owner of the Kingsford supermarket just got busted for selling pirated dvd's, including Sione's Wedding, its kinda stink especially because its a locally made movie. I haven't seen Sione's Wedding yet, hoping to get to the cinemas when the kids get back to school.

reply

A teacher from my school got busted for showing a pirated copy. It sucks, our school already has a bad image and now it's even worse. It's silly too, because there was an article on how our school schowed it to a soccer team, but a class at Takapuna Grammar were studying it for english!

That's what I heard. It's not fair that our school got all the sh*t for it, when they were actually studying a pirated dvd and my soccer team just watched it. What's sillier is the fact that a student from our school rang up and told the newspaper!
