Did anyone else notice that the song Dreyfuss was singing when he was fishing at the beginning of the movie, was the same song they were singing on Quint's boat "The Orca" (in the film Jaws) when the shark came up from the depths (with that ominous barrel with the beacon on it).

Sure did, thought it was a cool little nod to Jaws. What I thought would have been even better would be if his character was still a Marine Biologist and thus could have had some role in the movie in that respect.

shareMe too. Part of me wanted him to have no last name, just the same first name, so that it could actually be the same character, retired, and enjoying his "away from the ocean dangers" life. But then I thought that it would be a sad way to go for the man who survived Jaws. I've always hated when a movie sequel brings back a previous survivor and kills them inconsequentially. Like, seriously?! This is what the person fought so hard to live for?!
shareI was looking for him to show up later so I did not recognize him. Thinking back on it, it was definitely him. I also wish he had had a bigger part. A good nod to his being in Jaws and a quick credit for him.
Jake is the grandson of Steve McQueen so I hope his career does well. Of course, who could have seen how far Steve McQueen would go when he used some of his time off from Wanted Dead Or Alive to pick up some quick money from a little drive in, remember those, movie called The Blob. A movie that has become a cult favorite. Hey Syfy, time to do a remake of another cult favorite, Attack of the Crab Monster.
