If you think this degrades women. Then you should never see the actresses in the movies other films.

I would say a good portion of the actresses in this film are all playboy models and pornstars. Which the main leads being pornstars and models with exception to Elizabeth Shue.

So if you think them showing some skin in this movie was degrading. Then I hate to see the look on your face when Riley Steele or Gianna Michaels take on two guys and get rammed in every orifice possible.

So which is worse? An actress doing what she does for a living without the having sex part on camera in a B movie? Or getting *beep* in two holes by like 5 different guys on camera?

This is just a harmless B movie that happened to be far better reviewed then majority of the films released this year and summer.

Its not going to win an oscar or any award. Will probably barely go positive from box office sales. And once the dvd comes it will probably end up a cult classic several years down the road until the next Piranha remake comes out 10-15 years later to continue the legacy.

If you went into this film expecting Inception or a deep and meaningful story, good acting, special effects, and dialogue, then you sir don't deserve a refund because of your own stupidity.

In regards to this degrades women the women are not wearing anything different than what they wear to water parks, swimming pools, beaches, and any other place that involes going into the water.
Next is the same person going to complain that professional sports cheerleaders is also degrading to women, and the billboard in Los Angels of a excellent looking Los Angeles female doctor that can write prescriptions for mj which I saw this summer when I was in Los Angeles.

I am pleased to find those who actually shares my opinion on this film.
There are poor films out there but something like this one, I must admit I haven't seen in a long time. This project is a row example of an absolute catastrophe. I understand that money means priority to "Hollywood Movie Gods", but to go ahead with a film project of this "quality" is indeed beyond tragic agenda of Hollywood film industry.

I enjoy all types of movies and within genres there are good ones and bad ones

for every dark knight theres a catwoman, for every when harry met sally theres a gigli

Your problem is youre comparing this particular example of artistic expression against genres of movies in total. You dont agree that it is a legitimate example of artistic expression and thats fine. Art is subjective. There is no objective theory on what is art and what is exploitation, therefore as long as someone accepts something is art then it is. You dont think this is art, but the fact remains you shouldve known that from the beginning. That being said your criticisms dont attack the movie within its genre. You attack the film because it offended your sense of what a good movie is based on your preference of movie. You didnt like this movie because it had over the top acting, crazy gruesomeness in excess and plenty of naked women. Well you obviously dont understand this genre and how within it this is what is accepted as artistic expression. If you compare this movie to a movie in a genre that tries to make a serious attempt at drama and a life altering, sobering, realistic message then you are mistaken in your criticism. You have to compare the movie with B grade horror movies that know they are B grade. Stuff like critters, evil dead or dawn of the dead are the movies that one should compare this movie to. And If you do compare them properly youll find that this film hits pretty close to the mark that those classic B grade movies did. How shocking was the girl getting raped by a tree scene in evil dead. Or the kids having sex and getting attacked by the critters in the barn scene. The fish were well designed and threatening but also humorous as they should have been. The roles were pretty much spot on. Over the top, but perfect for what they were. I recently watched the latest Romero film and I was extremely disappointed. It didnt have that fun, over the top, never let up for a minute pace that this one did and it was in the same genre. It was dull, the actors were taking things too seriously and there was no constant feeling to the material. It didnt know whether it wanted to be a drama or a horror movie. Pirahna is a classic of B grade cinema which is making a huge comeback. Inglorious basterds and the kill bill movies are some examples of the B grade movie making it into the mainstream. It wouldve been awesome to have had this film tucked between planet terror and death proof in the grindhouse release. It wouldve been the most talked about movie of the three mainly because no one would have saw it coming. I had little expectations going into this movie and I was very pleased with what I got. I watch tons of low budget horror and this one is a winner. Perhaps you think that the genre itself has no place in film. If that is the case then you are simply someone who doesnt understand the genre, and thats too bad because its here to stay.
