The Milk Teeth(? for those who've seen the DVD)

In the commentary, did the director mention whether or not those pearly whites were real and if so, where'd they get them?

reply

The directory/producer interview do not mention it, and I don't see why they would since a great many mothers keep their children's baby teeth.

I'll clarify: I was inquiring as to where the filmmakers procured all those chompers(if memory serves correctly. there were more than a couple in storage)provided they were real.

reply

They simply were the boy's baby teeth. My mother personally didn't keep mine, but I do know some that did.

reply

I only kept the first tooth that my children lost. I thought it looked like too many teeth from some one Simon's age.

reply

I keep all my kids' teeth, and that was about the right number for a kid. But some of them were molars, which Simon would be too young to be losing his molars.

To the OP, I think she is asking if those teeth were real or a prop. I'm guessing a prop, but I don't actually know.
