Actors Narrating
Are the actors narrating these stories all jewish?
I'm a movie freak!
Well I do know that ryan gosling is not Jewish, but he did play the main character or protagonist in the indie movie "The Believer" based on a true story of a guy who became a neo-nazi though being brought up as an orthodox jew. (In real life, his neo-nazi character was part of the kkk.)
Joaquin Pheonix, I believe that his mother is Jewish or half-Jewish. I'm not sure about the other actors.
Half of the young actors narrating, I consider to be shallow.
I would much rather hear it narrated by maybe the descendants of survivor's. I know there are quite a few actors to choose from who are, in hollywood.

zach braff is jewish, i know...maybe the rest feel strongly about the topic...elijah wood was in everything is illuminated playing a jewish man whose grandparents were holocaust survivors, so maybe he felt the draw to do it.
i'm guffawing away on the steamship of hilarity
Well, most of the narrators aren't. It just comes off as "only famous people are experts on everything". Just hits me wrong. How about it being narrated by people who were there? I just HOPE they don't glitz it up.

They didn't glitz it up at all. It was actually very moving and serious, and I thought it was well-delivered. They don't make it into one of those things like, "I'm Ryan Gosling, listen to my Hollywood voice." I really enjoyed it.
shareI'm relieved to hear that. Thanks for letting me know.

I also wonder if MTV did it to make it more appealing to their target audience. Maybe people who wouldn't normally have an interest found out that their favourite actor was taking part and that caused them to watch and hopefully be educated. I honestly only recognized Ryan Goslings voice and that's only because I've seen "The Believer" so many times.
So good for MTV for stepping up and doing something meaningful. I only wish they had played it more than once.
Yea it was really good about that. I didn't even notice their voices, I just thought whoever it was was doing a really good job of portraying the people.
Give Joaquin his Oscar already, dammit
