It began as a school lesson about prejudice. What happened next was a miracle. This inspiring family documentary reveals the moving true story of a group of Tennessee students who turned their Holocaust education into a valuable lesson for the entire world. Their simple promise--to collect one paper clip for each person exterminated by the Nazis during World War II--led to them gathering more than 27 million paper clips, with more than 11 million being housed in a donated WWII railroad car memorial that was shipped to Whitwell, TN from Germany. Widescreen.
I'm one of the filmmakers and the author of the book on which this film was based (Salvaged Pages: Young Writers' Diaries of the Holocaust). thanks so much for your interest -- the film hasn't been available until now but we recently got funding to have it made and distributed. so, the process is underway. i don't know exactly when it will be released but it will happen. please keep looking out for it and i'll try to remember to post news of the dvd release when it happens.

My class just finished reading Night By Elie Weisel, amazing book, i mentioned to my teather that i saw this documentary on MTV and she wants me to bring it in to the class...is this DVD released????????????????
shareI was just wondering the same thing. My class is reading Night also. After we read the book, my teacher wanted us to watch Shindler's list. I also wanted to bring this in to show her. I really hope there's a DVD available out there somewhere.

I am Masters student working on my MA in educator and would really like to get a copy of "I'm still here: real diaries of young people who lived during the holocaust" for my classroom. I think it is an incredibly powerful way to help teenagers today understand how horrific the holocaust really was. I have been looking all over trying to find a copy of "I'm still here: real diaries of young people who lived during the holocaust" and can't. I am willing to pay for a copy of it and work within the copyright laws. I just think this could be a really powerful tool for me and a wonderful way to help my students really understand what went on (and is going on in other countries). I was wondering if you had an update on when (if) it was going to be available for purchase?
