So i finally saw this movie for the first time. I didn't even know about it. I saw it on netflix and decided to check it out. After watching it, i immediately came on here and read all the threads to see if someone posted something about the little girl at the end asleep with the stuffed animal "snake." No one said anything about it! i was thinking that he escaped and finally made it back to his family and i was like right on... happy ending... cool film... but then i saw the snake with the little girl and started thinking maybe it is a dream from the little girl because she does say she dreamed that her daddy lived in a cabin in the woods and the film did have the snake biting the stick figure that Williams had drew in his journal. Did anyone else out there make a connection with the stuffed animal snake?

I notices this too. I don't know what to make of it.
It wouldn't really make sense for the ending to be a dream. (Where would it start?)
If the whole thing is a dream then the child needs some severe help.
I initially thought that it was foreshadowing something to happen to the daughter in the future. After all, the first lines of the movie foreshadow the entire thing and we are reminded of this with the last lines.

'Is a worrisome image, definitely intentional; the three different interpretations floating around on this film's imdb pages are all valid/possible, and that image is definitely meant to throw all into the potentiality-hopper for another round(by my reckoning).-G.
