An hour in and he still hasn't asked anyone what's going on?!?

So this guy gets the lethal injection for being present when some people were killed.

He gets lethally injected, then presumably 'wakes up' by the side of the road and gets taken to this place. So far, he hasn't even asked anyone what happened, and why he isn't dead? He has just sort of accepted everything with a gormless expression. Even when he starts questioning things, it's stuff about the place, this symbol on a guy's arm, who's watching him etc. Why the hell hasn't he asked the most obvious screaming question - why aren't I dead, what am I doing here, who are you people, how did I get this job, where's my lawyer etc etc etc?

At first I assumed his mind had been erased or something, but then it becomes clear it hasn't as he remembers his wife and kid, so why doesn't he ask anyone these questions? It's annoying me so much I don't think I can get past it and even try to enjoy the film.

I don't think you got the complete gist here, his memory is erased--that is the implant he had in his arm which he took out in one scene. But as it is mentioned in the movie, some of those implants malfunction, and the people start seeing flashbacks of their old lives. For some the flashbacks will not be enough for them to realize they are memories and for some others, they do start remembering more and more, as in the case of the guy who commits suicide. Paul's character is getting just enough flashbacks to know something is wrong/odd but not enough to realize everything that has happened to him.

Yeah I posted this before I'd finished watching the film - I then got why he hadn't asked about it, because his mind was all messed with. But at the beginning it seemed really odd that he just accepted this new state of things without any questions.

I've never understood why people make a post.....right in the middle of the movie. So I guess you pause it and run over to the computer? Do you make the post and sit there waiting for a response before you finish it? Just curious.
