Anyone?
Does anybody have any info on this?
sharewould like some. but the fact that Hirokazu Koreeda is directing this has me excited.
shareI can tell you that as of June 16, 2006, there is no DVD of this film on Amazon Japan.
Hirokazu Koreeda is one director who I will buy without reviews or previews. I suppose this will be on a disc by next year. Sigh.

Here is the Toronto Film Festival write up on "Hana":

I saw it at the TIFF a couple of weeks ago (on the 7th, to be precise) and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I recommed it highly.
shareI'm seeing it tomorrow at the London (BFI) film festival and its gonna be awesome. My girlfriend bought me 2 tickets for my birthday, i've unfortuanely never seen a Koreeda film but i'll probably get Nobody Knows if i like Hana. Unless someone wants to recommend another of his films to get me started?
' A man can't be a real man if he doesn't spend time with his family'
I thought it was wonderful. It was a big departure from his other films.. Much more commerical territory.. But certainly not inferior. A hugely likeable and funny film
It reminded me of Yoji Yamada's The Twilight Samurai. Especially the gentle and warm tone throughout, although Hana is certainly more comedic

Last Film Seen: Hana 8.5/10
Having now seen it i agree, likeable and funny. Light-hearted almost throughout but with some very touching moments. I will buy on DVD. woop Kore-eda, i will now try and find nobody knows and since KarzaK said Hana reminded him of Yamada's Twlight samurai then that too.

If any of you are importers, the Japanese DVD version will be out by the end of this month - it includes English subtitles too so don't worry. ;)
shareSaw it today at Mostra de Cinema de Sao Paulo. Koreeda-san was there. Wonderful and unpretentious movie beautifully filmed. Sometimes it seems a cross between The Twilight Samurai and a Koki Mitani (Uchoten Hoteru, Radio no Jikan) comedy with a bunch of characters and subplots crossing. Koreeda-san talked about his next project, a movie about a japanese immigrant he'll film in Brazil. Woo-hoo!
