Visiting the city in November!

Can anyone recommend anything worth doing or seeing while we're visiting Glastonbury next fall?

We're doing a study trip there to look at New Age, NRM's and old celtic religion, so Stonehenge is obvious... But apart from that, what should we see? We'll be going to London as well.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!:)

If you're going to Glastonbury you should definitely check out Avebury and Marlborough. They're right near Glastonbury and a total must see. The earth mounds at Marlborough and stone structures are Avebury are amazing!

Anything else?

There is a whole lot more to see in Somerset!

If I were making the trip for the first time, I would also visit:

Stanton Drew:

And some of the famous caves in the Mendip Hills where some of the earliest Britons lived:

If you are into Grail lore and its link to Glastonbury Tor & the Arthurian legend, then some of the small villages in north Somerset (Temple Cloud, Temple Coombe...etc) are worth a look; as is Temple church in Bristol, right next door to Temple Meads station.

If you do pop over to Wiltshire to visit Marlborough and Avebury, then don't forget to check out the famous "White Horses" on the chalk downs:

Finally, the City of Wells and its magnificent cathedral make a good base for exploring the area:

Hope the helps.

Have a great trip!

Sean.
