I have also been looking for news about Christy signing up and cannot find any articles to support the one you read.
I would be very happy if she did indeed reprise her role in the 3rd dmovie.

I eat humble pie. I finally got Christy's official blogsite to load and she announced that she has officially signed the contract to reprise her role in the 3rd version.
