not very good

it seems ppl think this might be a "british suckfest"...

those who thought that, might be right..

I've just seen the DVD-version of the film, and im not very impressed. As I'm not british, maybye I didn't get the humor, cuz the "funny moments" were morre imbarrasing.
I watched the whole movie, so it wasnt the worst ive seen, but definately NOT the best either. i felt the acting was "overdone", and the story was not very good. some of the scenes should not be in the movie at all. u've seen it all before, but in better movies...

as for me, its a `3/10

but this is only my opinion

(i could've said a lot more if i could use my native language :D )

Well considering it came out on DVD only a couple of weeks after its cinema run, us Brits thought it was a pile of crap too. In fact no-one over here seemed to have even heard of it until they started running adds for the DVD release! Screams tax shelter job, if you ask me.

I thought it was so bad, boring and cliché that I couldn't even finish watching the movie, and I rarely do that.

I went into this movie _wanting_ to like it. I adore Chris Barrie and the premise seemed like it could be fun. The word "Disappointment" looms large, though. It was bland and colorless. There seemed to be a lot of misspent efforts. It felt like the movie should have been more about Tom and Will. A little more back and forth between them and enjoying pulling a con again. Instead there was too much focus on the bumbling butler/ex-cop doing some un-believable stuff. Barrie could have been used better, too. There's some comedic scenes with him, but not enough: a lot of time is wasted on him insisting his idiot son is really worth something to the job. And did anyone else feel like there was some big shot behind the scenes pushing for more stuff with the younger players to "sex it up a little"?

I came to the imdb boards wondering if, as an American, if I could just be missing something in a cultural way. It doesn't look like that's the case, though. Too bad.
