Chris Barrie

Sometimes I wonder why Chris has never really made it 'big.' I mean, he's famous...but I always thought he had quite a bit of talent and wonder why, *lately*, he makes movies/series that never seem to go anywhere.

Apparently, even though he's hilarious, he's a bit of a jerk and a pain to work with because he thinks he's so awesome.

He started off doing impressions of people for a living so I'm guessing any actual acting work is okay by him.

It's a shame because he is a very likeable guy and in red dwarf he was amazing, his performances in blackadder as a younger man were excellent, the brittas empire was fantastic and he played the character amazingly, maybe someone needs to give him a starring role in a sitcom because it seems thats what he's best at, i'm sure he's a very nice guy, personally i hope he comes out with somehting that will capture the imagination of the public soon because i'd love ot see chris back on the screen and his name up in lights.

Ok, so two years to late but what the hell. He's not a jerk. At all. I have worked with him and he is simply the nicest person you could want to work with. Generous to the other actors around him and very down to earth. I know there are many Dwarf fans who like to think he's a prat because of his character but it couldn't be further from the trouth. Anyway, rant over. I just don't get where the jerk thing came from.

I dunno, in his interviews he always seems so serious and conceited. But I'm glad that's just an impression and he's not really like that because I'd love to think he is a great guy!

I can honestly say that I have never heard a bad thing about him. He's supposed to be a very nice and down to earth person from everything I've ever read/heard. He is very professional however, which I think he carries over to his interviews. He tends to come across as quite controlled and confident I think, but I've certainly seen him mucking around on film enough times, so he's not always so serious! He comes across to me as someone who is probably more laid back and quirky when out of the limelight. :-D
