"Asterix in America" was a totally in Germany produced movie with the characters drawn after the german speakers.
And this movie "Asterix aux hey olympiques" has a german producer, german co-director and some german actors in it. So it's a co-production. But you're right. It's filmed in french and will be dubbed in all other languages.
sorry but it's wrong. it's french movie because the production society are french (pathé and la petite reine) and the producers are not german or spanish, but french. the production, with 78 000 000 euros, come to the french cinema. so, it's not a spanish or german or another european coproduction, it's french production. out of imdb, this movie is take to a french movie (allociné)

There is no German "co-director". They're both French.
Its budget comes from french companies by a large majority. The first one was more european, but since it led to some budget and direction issues (it's called "europudding", when too many european countries team up for the worst) this one is 90% French.
The Spanish partners are here because the movie was shot in Alicante, and the German production is a tax loophole, a common trick in filmmaking (like many Hollywood movies do, but you'd never consider Mi3, Terminator 3 or Speed Racer as a US/German co-production, heh?)

Asterix is very popular in the world and especially in its NATIVE Europe. It's not French because whatever the parts of the production companies or the number of actors, there are several European nationalities so IT'S AN EUROPEAN movie. Word. Bottom line. End of discussion.

It is a european movie. This is a coproduction between different studios from europe!
They are actors from different countries (famous french, quebec, italian, belguim, spanish and german actors!), some of them don't even speak french!
Do you realy think that Micheal Schumacher speak it's part in french? I am sure not!
For those who say that Asterix a french, so the film should be french... I just have to say "La cage aux folles"!! It is french, and it was remade for the US public!
This Asterix movie is not going to be remade for all countries, with different actors!!
