This really should have been called Brutus at the Olympic Games

No wonder Clavier didn't come back - Asterix and Obelix are barely in the movie, and when they are they have nothing to do but occasionally stand on the sidelines and watch the other actors. The film is centered around Brutus so much that it's surprising Benoit Poelvoorde didn't get top billing. Hell, even Alain 'can't do comedy' Delon probably has more screentime than Cornillac.

Yeah that is very sad. Brutus' character in the movie was just nerving.

The first one was the best one imho, because there Asterix & Obelix were definitely the protagonists. In the second one it was Numérobis (although I liked this movie because of nice humour) and in this one Brutus.

Wonderful. I absolutely hated the first movie so I guess none of the other two are for me.

movie 1 was bad, movie 2 (egypt) was quite good and movie 3 was very bad, except for the end with Ferrarix in the horse races and various other cameos

I totally agree ! This movie isn't as good as the previous one but as some kind of big-budget extragavanza it delivers pretty well.
Poelvoorde (as Brutus) is in top form and saves the movie. As a fellow Belgian, I was really rooting for his character ! They should have made a sequel, just centering on Brutus (and how he finally offs Caesar!)!

I had a theory that Brutus' mother was Cleopatra. In the end of the second film, she and Caesar are quite close to each other. Brutus, he would be Caesarion ;)
