WHERE'S NIMUE? I'M GUESSING EITHER SHE DIED OR HER AND MERLIN BROKEUP. SUPPOSEDLY, THE MOVIE TAKES PLACE ABOUT 50 YEARS AFTER GALAHAD'S (LANCELOT'S SON) DEATH. SO, KNOW TELLING WHAT HAPPENED TO HER. HOPEFULLY, THE MOVIE WILL TELL WHAT HAPPENED TO HER.
In the original Merlin didn't she reunite with him when they were very old and a looooong time has passed? this movie or whatever it's considered may be before they reunited... I don't know, I haven't seen the original in a while and I haven't seen this one yet, so I couldn't tell you.

Yes, it's been 50 years since the death of Arthur, I believe, so that would mean that this movie takes place somewhere in between the time that Arthur dies and the time that Merlin and Nimue find each other again when they're very old. So if that's when this movie takes place, Merlin doesn't even know that Nimue's free and alive. As far as he knows, she's still trapped in that cave.
