Crap
This show, like so many before it, is garbage. It will be dust in a matter of weeks. My question: Are the writers writing down for an imagined audience of idiots, or are the writers horribly untalented? What could explain such banal crap? I'm really intrigued how writers, most of whom must have some penchant for their craft and the medium, can churn out such drivel. I just can't believe that a room full of even marginally talented people would produce this show unless they were instructed to shoot for the gutter.
Unltimately, I suppose that absence of quality is either intentional or it isn't. In the case of the former, why? A presumption that the audience craves garbage? There's a certain cynical temptation to believe that, but does it really bear up? We all assume this show will be canned within weeks. The posters on this thread must not believe that the market demands trash; we all assume the market will reject this.
So, unintentional. Could it be that enough people have made it through the cracks who actually believe this program is good?! Is that really possible? I would never have thought that building a career as a writer in such an incredibly dense market could be faked. Is that naive?
Someone with some real insight into the industry kindly explain the phenomenon of the clearly awful show making it to prime time.
