Julianne returned. Just because they want one judge per team? I see she returned as Gwen Stefani 2.0.
Always interesting to see the “do over” dances. Invariably they do these well, maybe because they don't want to embarrass their particular judge.
Frankie should wear a white jacket with dark slacks all the time. Suddenly he looked so much taller. Maybe helped his dancing too. He did very well and once again I noticed great applause from the audience. Also noticed Witney rubbing her ribs. Hope she didn't hurt herself in that dance.
Jordan did a dance where one couldn't tell who was the celebrity and who the pro, but it still doesn't look like a Charleston to me, despite Len's coaching.
Really loved Lindsey's dance! Didn't hurt that I've always liked that Benny Goodman music. But they looked really great. In fact it was like a moment out of time that transcended the show.
Quite an innovative dance from Julianne, including some moves I've never seen before.
Drew's freestyle was amusing, with their little comedic trick in the middle. He was still Drew-like, but pretty passable at this point. Found myself noticing that he lost his cap in the middle and wondering, was that an accident or intentional? Felt happy for him that he could finally get some 10s.
Interesting that the show was willing to admit they kind of forced Frankie to do a serious, powerful routine rather than a comedic one. Would have preferred that they hadn't. I don't see that it helped Frankie that much either. But probably didn't hurt him that much.
Absolutely nothing wrong with Jordan's freestyle, though I was surprised it was so traditional. He's the number one threat to Frankie winning. All up to the voters now.
Really enjoyed the concept Mark came up with for Lindsey's freestyle, including having her actually play the violin. Despite what I've written about him before, his ideas are really helpful to all his partners. I also think now that Derek has left his ability has become much more apparent.
Looks like the voters picked the right three couples to go to the final. Surprised that for the first time the show will have additional voting on the second night. Wonder what brought that on.
