Review of Family Portraits

Most that seem to review this one-those who understand the potential power of film, that is-give the shorts high marks, and I believe they deserve it.
As a fan of horror movies and the boundaries they can push, I was certainly moved by these three. I had to stop watching Cutting Moments once there was a close-up of the scissors next to the sink. I sat in another room, smoked a cigarette and returned to it, on the verge of tears. Not tears like when you watch the Gary Sinise version of Of Mice and Men, but almost rage-filled tears. I can't explain it. But it moved me.
