US DVD Release?

I'm very doubtful. It's a Canadian movie, and a French Canadian movie at that. Canadians outside of Quebec may not even be fortunate enough to get this (we certainly lucked out on getting "C.R.A.Z.Y." in the rest of the country [which is out on DVD in two weeks for my fellow Canadians]). Unfortunatly our film industry is a very modest one, and our good movies (which, at this point, are few) usually get overlooked, even by our own people, so they rarely get the exposure/money here to make it across the border... a very rare occurance, as something like "Ginger Snaps" is about the only thing that comes to mind.

There's little chance it will be released outside of Canada unless it's a huge smash hit (and even then there's no guarantee. C.R.A.Z.Y. which was huge hit this year in Canada still doesn't have a U.S. distributor). If you want to buy it on DVD you'll probably have to buy it through a Canadian website.

It's listed on amazon but is currently unavailable. I've also seen a site review that leads me to think there's a region 1 DVD floating around out there somewhere:

I hope if we do get a US release we'll get subtitles for the commentaries. I'd hate to be missing out.
