"why is there NO gay characters in australia soaps do we exist or what"

never any black characters either, Neighbours had lesbians at one point, and another lesbian topic arised with Rosie later (after the Sky one)

it would probably be because the producers don't want their audiences turning on them. i would have no problem with a gay relationship being on tv, but i know lots of people who would be turned off a show because of one. give it time, it'll happen.

alot of these shows are on early like 700 or 730. the issue is mainly with that these are family friendly times and there usually is an uproar because young children are watching this shows and there is this perception that children need to be shunned from gay/lesbian relationships even though some of their parents are in a homosexual relationship.

people still complain, because homosexuality in this day and age is still not fulling accepted. though some soaps have shown a lesbian or gay relationship, have you ever noticed that they usually do not last and their storyline usually finds them going back straight relationships. therefore it is shown that experimentation is normal but we must never forget to go back to our "straight ways"

personally i would like to see a committed homosexual relationship at 7pm

The only Abnormality is the incapacity to love

In Australia, anything with any representation outside of whitebread mainstream is sent to the SBS ghetto. There you will find gays, lesbians, Aboriginals, Muslims, Indians, Chinese all living in Australia. But not on the main channels because they don't care and SBS gets them off the hook to peddle their wares to the bogan majority.
