The point is, the word was spelled wrong. Google hanting and you will just find people who misspelled it. *Sigh*
shareIt's actually either an archaic form of 'haunting' from a couple centuries ago or some sort of regional term. I know that in some certain places in the South it's called a 'haint' or 'hainting'; because of the South's, especially in mountainous or swampy regions, relative isolation (incubation) for a long time a lot of terms were either preserved that otherwise changed or those words themselves.
Basically it's not a mistake or anything, it's legit albeit not common.
