Music by Ronnie Boykins's son is wild and terrific.

Ronnie Boykins was the bass player that was central to the sound of Sun Ra's Arkestra. He also played with my uncle, Steve Lacy. My name is Don Lackritz and Steve was my uncle. Unfortunately Ronnie died of a heart attack at the age of 44 (and Steve's gone now, too), but thankfully his son, Ronnie Boykins Jr. is here to continue in his remarkable father's footsteps and he's every bit up to the task. Just listen to his talent and you'll be blown away. The music is wonderful and is so appropriate for the film. May his Dad and my uncle rest in peace and both Ronnie Junior and myself continue to play the avante garde sounds that bring fresh delight to our sadly unfresh and disappearing art. God Bless the Boykins family.
