Could Tatum Dance Before He Was Cast?

yer he was a model and all but could he dance before this was made or did he have to learn for the role? i dont mean learn the steps in the movie coz thats obvious any1 wud ahave to learn them, but i mean dancing full stop.

Channing did not really have any professional dance experience or training before "Step Up". He is a naturally talented dancer.

to me, he couldn't dance too well in the beginning of the movie ... but at the end he looked really nice.

He definetly got better as the movie progressed. He looked sort of uncoordinated in a way at the very start when he was dancing with PJ's girlfriend.

i dunno, but in Coach Carter that Channing was in, they said he had to work with coaches cuz he didnt kno basketball

He worked as a dance teacher for an inner city hip hop school of dance. I am assume he breaks..did breakdance.

He does have natural dancing skills but when you study his execution of combinations he needs some work to tighten up his lines and have a stronger core. I've studied dance for over 8 years and he does a respectful job but nothing I would give him a standing O for.

He's Channing Tatum...it doesn't matter if the moves aren't perfect! 
