Full Circle? (Serious Star Wars Fans Needed!)

Ok, I guess you'd say I'm kind of a fan girl poser. I read comic books, I go to Magic Tournaments (mainly because my husband is awesome at the game), I played WoW for a while, & I love Star Trek & Star Wars. I know, that's a sin to many true fans, but what can I say, I like them both.

I was subjected to the Star Wars Convention in Denver, (before I'd even seen any of the movies, save the Ewok Television Special when I was just a kid) by a boyfriend, who was a true fan.

I watched the Prequels there, to prepare myself should there be a special screening of the "new" movie at the convention. Sadly there was not, but I did get to see it almost as soon as I stepped off the plane when I came back home.


(I even got to meet Ray Park, Anthony Daniels, Warwick Davis, and several other really cool people that I never thought I'd be excited to meet. It was nice & sparked an interest, but I was only 18 & had other things in mind, like snowboarding, skateboarding, dance, college, & well, taking a strange trip cross country to find my self. Somehow Star Wars seemed too complicated for me at that time.)

I get the BASIC facts about the saga, I know what happened in the original 3 (basically) & I have an idea of what happened in the prequels as well. My question is, what did I miss? I'm all grown up now & I have 2 boys (a stepson & a 4 year old son with my husband) & they absolutely LOVE Star Wars, as do many of the children I babysit.

I'm expected to know this stuff & I just don't! I assure you, I'm not a troll, or trying to insult anyone, I really just want to know, what happens next? Does the dark side win? Is there a "win" or is it a Yin & Yang kind of thing?

What happened to Luke? Leah? Han? Padme? Is there a comic book I can read? Any facts would be greatly appreciated, as well as any direction to sub-plots would really help my cred! Seriously, I don't have time to watch all 6 movies again, & even if I do, I usually have a gaggle of kids here to tend to so actually paying attention to the movies is really hard.

Any insight or links would be greatly appreciated!!! In the meantime, I will try to sit down & actually WATCH all the movies all the way through to see what I missed, I really enjoy the movies, but as I said before, I feel like I missed something. Thanks in advance!!!
