Stalker Laws in GB

It seems odd that in England, there would be no form of stalker laws to protect the three women who were all involved with Brendan. Are there no women's shelter's either? And, why didn't any of these women change to locks on their front door? Duh. Dumb.

Yes there are laws which can be used to prosecute such harassment in not just England, but the whole of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (as the US is short for the Unide Stades Merca) , but in this drama the police were dumb, the women were... forgetful...? ...and the screen playwright (and possibly the novelist, however I concede that I have not read the book, which may be... must surely be significantly better) must have thought that we, the viewing audience, collectively buttoned up the back.

Indeed only star David Tennant gets any credit (all of it and more) as an actor widely regarded as one of the nicest in the business... here in the UK at least... plays -utterly convincingly- one of the creepiest, most volatile psychos ever seen on the small screen.
