reply

Yeah, it was pretty brilliant...can't wait for tomorrow night...the build-up is really gripping and believable - at the same time I can't help but still find him so attractive...it's delicious.

reply

I know how can we find him attractive when his character is so nasty....how!!!

"Teenage wasteland...there're all wasted."

I'm glad it's not just me. Haha. He really is delicious and yet SO believable as a sinister bloke.

Honestly I think that's the best thing that's been on tv for a very long time. Has anybody read the book? I must find a way to lay my greasy paws on a copy. David was absolutely wonderful- I had never seen him in anything before and I had no idea he had such depth. He was totally gripping! And really sexy too...:-s

"Eliza! Where the devil are my slippers?"

reply

Ive read the book you can buy it on play.com the only real difference that I dont get it that in the book Troy doesnt jump out of a window Brendan drugs him and hangs him.

Fleur Delacour's as much a fairy princess as I am.

reply

Oh nasty !!!

No wonder they changed THAT bit !!!

Have started reading the book now because of this show. Found myself a nice comfy chair in Boarders and snuggled in.

I was actually lucky enough to work on the show as an extra in the Courtroom scene when Bredan is charged.

To all you girlies on this post drooling over our future Timelord Mr. Tenant, I can confirm that not only is he gorgeous (and this was a reaction of mine I was quite surpirised at because, while I respected David Tennant as an Actor, he was never one of the ones who made me drool [until I met him that is !!!]) He is also one of the nicest guys you will ever meet.

Sophia Myles, you are one lucky lady !!!

reply

Oh my god you lucky devil! He is brilliant!

reply

he is soooo sexy

reply

I thought he was an amazing psycho! Then again, for Harry Potter fans, or just movie goers, he was pretty creepy in Goblet Of Fire!

I don't think he's that attractive though, sorry.

reply

Absolutely awesome.
I didn't find him that creepy in HP..

But he's an amazingly talented actor in everything he does.

ive read the book and to be honest its not one of my favourite nicci french books i preferred beneath the skin which was also adapted for tv but secret smile on tv was great david tennant was brilliant

reply

There's an interesting thing that happens with baddies - it seems the nicer the actor, the better the baddie! So it's logical that you can't help but find them attractive in spite of yourself, which then just makes the baddie seem even, er... baddier....

I should stop there...

reply

Well in RL David Tennant seems (from what I've read about him from others) a very down-to-earth nice guy. He makes the perfect baddie (ie: Brendan, or for the kiddies, Barty Crouch Jr.) and such a great good guy! (ie: Doctor!)

Oh, he was also in the movie "The Last September". Quite handsome in uniform.
I've seen that, Doctor Who (season 3 in the US in a week!), Casanova, bits of Blackpool, Secret Smile (despite the lack of it on BBCA) and hopefully Recovery when it surfaces online.
Oh yeah, and if you don't mind the graphic-ness, he had a small part in 'Jude'.. Christopher Eccleston is the main character though. So all in all, pretty worth it. Just graphic.

David Tennant is all mine!
I'm more addicted to 'House' than he is to Vicodin.

reply

I know! As soon as he came on screen, the hair on the back of my neck stood straight up and my stomach turned over. I just knew he was going to be deliciously creepy. I had to turn on "Doctor Who" to remind myself that he IS an excellent hero.

*Really, what is it about bad guys that can be soo sexy? (I mean REALLY bad guys like 'Tom' in "Lie With Me". Or, obviously 'Brendan'. Or any character ever played by Ritchie Coster.)*

Cheers!

In conclusion, most of us either watched it because he was in it, or we now like him. All in all, DAVID IS *TOTALLY* cute...

reply

Oh yeah, one more thing; is this just turning into a 'Drooling-over-David-Tennant' session?

reply

Yes it is! And I fear I do not see it a crime:o)Nice alliteration that "Drooling Over David"......hee hee.
Is the Sophia Myles he's dating the very same Sofia that played Reinette in the "Doctor Who" series?

I'm slightly mournful because Doctor Who is over for the year, and the DVDs don't come out until November.....But I've pre-ordered!

Are there any naughty scenes with David in "Secret Smile"? *crosses fingers tightly*

reply

Meanwhile, this is the first thing I've ever seen David in, you can imagine my troubles with seeing him as the doctor!! He just played a psycho a little too well, "hmmmm?"

reply

Definately hot and showing just how good he is, having seen him at both ends of the spectrum from creepy psycho to bouncy Doctor just improves my opinion of his fabulous acting. (I already had a fabulous opinion of his hotness)

reply

Absolutely fantastic show. I'd just started really finding David absolutely gorgeous when I watched it, and was actually really surprised to find myself seriously mad at the end - how dare they send him away?!

He's the most incredible actor too, and such a nice guy by all accounts. I wish, wish, wishy wish it would get released on DVD...

David Tennant, Tom Ward, Jack Davenport, Ewan McGregor, Dominic Cooper. The only men for me.

reply

he rather scared me in this but he was brilliant and he is soooo hot!! any one who meets him is very very lucky :)

I've seen Tennant in part of Cassanova, and he was essentially the Doctor. Seeing him in this however, was amazing, he was just so different from The Doctor, so frightening and chillling!

reply

Ahh... but did you see him in "Recovery" ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0847149 )?

I haven't seen too much with DT. I only just got into Doctor Who, and have yet to see any with him in it, but I did buy Casanova (mostly cuz I have a girl-crush on Laura Fraser *squee*). Casanova was brilliant! I REALLY want to see "Blackpool"!! I have seen clips on YT, and it seems like that off the wall, quirky, Brit-Show I easily get enthralled with (cuz ANYTHING is better than the crap on USA TV right now... and DON'T get me started on THAT topic, cuz I can ramble and kvetch about that for hours and then completely turn around and lose my train of thought about what I was talking about...) Anyhoo... where was I? Oh yeh, DT squee... But I would like to see this, it seems pretty good from what I have heard and the random clips on YT (mostly from that David Tennat *OMG* video, which by the way, is all kinds of evil....)

reply

Yes, he was excellent in Recovery!

reply

Yikes, that was creepy! At the beginning when he's iceskating, those eyes! I mean, they're just to die for.. but then he starts to get to get involved with Mary's sister and fools the entire family with a smile, God that's just too creepy!

Blackpool is good. I watched it on YouTube, and it was great. The part with him and David Morrissey (I hope I spelled that right) dunking each other in the pool to "Should I Stay or Should I Go" was hysterical. His character, Peter Carlisle, was also very well developed. He had good intentions, although he was pretty manipulative.

Casanova was also brilliant. I was laughing the whole way through.

Also, back to Secret Smile, it got to the point that I was so pissed that I wanted to beat him silly with whatever blunt object I could grab every time I saw him. It showed me another side of his acting repertoire, from the adorably goofy, hyperactive Doctor to the ever comical, charming Casanova, to the complex Peter Carlisle, to the sneaky, secretly psychotic Brendan Block.
