Average attempt at Japanese horror

I see now the long stringy haired ghost is starting to bleed over into American movies. It's already been done to death in asian horror. be that as it may it wasn't a terrible movie. It did take a hardly used setting for ghost stories and make some already use of it. Why did the indian girl turn japanese in her ghost form?
