Is there anybody who dislikes this movie?

I'm confused, WTF

reply

I rated it 3/10. Thought it was extremely marginal and derivative.

I only hated how like in "The Lottery" the bad guys won

i liked it untill the ending... but that really managed to blow all the good things there were far away into oblivion... now i really DONT like it

reply

Rated it 2/10
One of the worst movies i've ever seen...

reply

I was surprised to see a rather high rating for this one. It's very predictable. No element of surprise, whatsoever. Another movie where IMDB voting is far from the truth, I'd say. Wasted my time and money.

stupid movie...a evil force was in that town...that wanted only 436 people...stupid stupid stupid...Nobody is telling us why...or what to do to escape..it's like you don't have a chance to survive...nothing. Where is this force comming?...when started everything? I hate this king of movies that don't even explain smth. Maybe I would have go pass the stupid end..if I only knew what was the cause.

Anyway..the people where killing themselves on that festival just to feel they were still in control..but they weren't ..

reply

I found the movie rather stupid and would've avoided if my friend didn't want to watch it to the end.

Obey God's will is how I would sum it up.

reply

Who "dislikes" this movie? Pfft As far as im concerned, If you "liked" this movie, YOUR the one that needs a lobotomy.

reply

This is one of worst movies I have ever seen.

Pathetic story, terrible acting, stupid ending, etc

reply

I liked it.

I liked it and Merrrrrrow at Jeremy Sisto

reply

I liked it as well, guess I need a lobotomy.

reply

Sign me up when you go to get yours because I liked it too.

Apparently I need one as well...: )~ I LOVE this movie!

We need more movies out of Canada, esp. Manitoba. That place is so beautiful. I want to live there, but not in Rockwell Falls.

I just had a thought...there are a lot of OLD people in that town. So all of you who ask, "If they don't like their population messed with, why the welcome sign?" Cause when the old folks kick off, they need replacements!

Opinions are like *beep* everybody has one.

I think that there were a lot of plot holes (for instance, what happens when someone dies? Do they kidnap someone?), as well as ripoffs of a lot of other movies, books, short-stories, and plays (Harvest Home, The Lottery, etc).

The acting was sub-par, and the set design left much to be desired (personal choice).

That said, I kinda liked the movie. If you can find this movie for free in the library, or rent it for dirt cheap, by all means see it (especially if you like Outer Limits-y movies). If I saw it in theatres, I would want my money back, but for a slow Sunday film at home, I love it!

reply

I agree with you totally, tearlenb -- thought of Dark Secret of Harvest Home and Jackson's The Lottery immediately when I caught this on cable.

Still, it's been on two more times and I've watched parts of it, can't say why. It's a fine movie for a boring Sunday afternoon. And I'm glad it doesn't have a happy ending. Very 70s!

I liked the idea behind it ... until it was blown to smithereens in the last 5 minutes. If they took out the nightmares and changed the ending to them actually getting out, it would've been a completely different message.

reply

It's pretty bad AND boring. I've seen this film many times before, the plot was so tired. The guys (Sisto and Durst) were good though. Overall, a big waste of time.
