Dreadfully... Boring

I accidentally came on this site while looking for the feature film I heard about. Yet strangely, I saw this short in NYC at a screening.

Nothing special at all. Terribly dry and boring, in fact the best thing about it is that it is short. Really tiresome story about a couple who get spooked in a new mansion and you just don't understand how these films get made these days, that are so unoriginal. Having Betsy Palmer, not sure if that's anything to brag about. Actually, it's probably something you want to hide!!!

If you want to see a good haunted house film go straight to the classics like "The Haunting" by Robert Wise. Wow, what happened to movies.

Yeah i agree,
what a boring subject matter treated in an uninteresting, boring way. The scene where they're visiting the house, my god, how many films can you see that in, it's unbearable..... and the supposed ghostly "scares"..... please, give me a break..... this is crud. As far as winning at Shriekfest, WOW!!! Poor Betsy Palmer, going all the way down from Friday 13th.... to doing this kind of terrible short film.

So sad. what is the world coming to.

reply

What "ghostly scares"? Say SOMETHING that proves you watched it. Anything....

hey ho. stop harrassing people who may not like it. what's wrong with teens ? there wouldnt be any adults without em! DUH!!!

what has this director done anyway before? he seems like a bitter dude.

reply

how do you know the director?

I met the director at the screening with the cast at the Fangoria Weekend of Horrors and he was the nicest, most modest guy. It was a fun screening. Do you really think the movie is boring? The scenes were short and it moved along swiftly...there's a lot to take in (especially fun if you've already seen it before)so you can see how fair the "twist" is at the end. Betsy rocked in the movie.

reply

I agree about Betsy. I'm a huge horror fan and I'm delighted to see her in something scary since Friday the 13th. How can you turn that into a negative thing? Her cominc relief was wonderful. I read in an interview that the other choices for "Trudy" the psychic in Penny Dreadful were Beverly Garland and Lee Grant. How fun would that have been?

reply

not boring at all

I run the website jerk.

reply

Not according to my info, BN.

reply

what are you trying to stir up, jaybenders?

reply

I'm not trying to stir up anything. Just discussing this cr@ppy movie. How bad would you say it is?

reply

read the other posts where you were called an IMDB Troll...and read again. You are trying to create conflict.
How did this movie end? What happened? Where did you see this movie?

reply

I would say you are the one creating conflict all over the imdb. Got our eyes on you.

reply

answer the questions about the movie.

reply

I hate the movie, sorry. I just don't like it and a lot of friends didnt like it either. it's a small world and festivals are tiny places where word of mouth about these things spread, it can't be helped.

it was whitepongo that gave you away.

reply

answer the questions about the plot.

reply

You call that a plot, BN?

reply

Dude, you are so busted

reply

Not busted.
Not playing your rules.

I didn't know it's an interrogation, BNTrigger.

reply

The only Dreadfully Boring thing about this string is how much you harp on how much you don't like the movie. You don't like it, that's your perogative. You obviously have an axe to grind. And guess what, we all know really well you didn't like. So thank you for your review Ebert. Please, let us know how you feel about some other movies. Inquiring minds want to know.

Wow, this jnct860s first comment in 4 years. I'm honored.

Did BN put you up to this? Is he being a bad boy again?

reply

have you met BN before? Surely you have better material...

reply

Just answer me this: is BN going to spend all the time bothering the imdb and irritating them with all his posts and post erasings under all his different identities? Doesn't he have a directing job or something to give life meaning?

reply

Have they erased any of your posts?

reply

They may do so freely. Keep it up, smart guy and you wont be smiling.

reply

What are you threatening to do?

reply

That sounds like a threat. God, you are such an ass.

I am going to make this "short", unfortunately for us on this message board, you are "terribly boring", "really tiresome" and should keep your comments to yourself until you have something constructive to say.
I too saw this film and thought it was very good, we all have opinions, some, however should really be kept to themselves.
Please do let us know when you have made a film, as I am sure that we would all like to come to your screening. Good Luck !

Man, you gotta get your horror veins checked. This movie was awesome! And Betsy Palmer was killer in it. In fact, it reminded me EXACTLY of the older classic horror films. A great twist ending, a great storyline, and a VERY different take on Deja' vu-ism! I don't know, man. You seem to be slamming this thing pretty hard for someone who claims to be just a film watcher. Did the film beat yours at some festival somehwere or WHAT?!! Come on. You're bashing it like it's trying to steal your kids! What's the real reason for your venom?
