Raiden should have died

We all know Raiden was and is still one of the most disliked characters in the series. Yeah he took snakes Place in MGS2, and he looked kinda weird looking ill admit that. But I never had a problem with his dialogue in sons of liberty, he couldn't be another snake after all. He was a rookie who had never been in a real life situation such as that one

But after learning his back story as a child soldier and then seeing what he became in MGS4 and all he goes through in MGS4, I came to really feel for him and like him as a character. However, I thought it would have been a tragic but fitting end if he'd have sacrificed himself for snake. Then at the ending it could be revealed that Roy and rose was just a rouse to fool the patriots and all that. I mean that would have been even more sombre but I just feel it would be hard for anyone to still hate him.

I was sad when raiden slowly sinks to the bottom of the ocean at the end of act 4 but I also admired him and felt like he went out a true hero. Then he's in act 5 with no arms and electricity going all over the place, it kind of weirded me out to be honest and made me feel like the went for the happy ending for all the characters.

I guess I felt it was more fitting if raiden went out sacrificing himself for snake, then his son could grow up to become the next ninja we in revengeance. I was glad he ended up "normal" again and all that at the end but, now it all seems a waste of time because he's back like he was in MGS4. anyone else feel that way? Or am I just weird?

"what?..I've got cock on my hand"

Maybe Rising takes place before MGS 4?

Hi! Based on this article, Revengeance occurs 4 years after MGS4:

Well maybe I just will skip the rising series then and wait for Ground Zero :)

Same here :). Although I'm curious about Rising and will most likely play it "someday", I'm definitely more STOKED about Ground Zeroes :D!!! After MGS3 and Peace Walker, I needs me some more Big Boss! LOL!

I hear Ground Zeroes is going to be "open world", so that's gonna be interesting. It would be neat if Eva and Adamska (aka Ocelot) were in it too. After all, they did work with BB in his fight against Major Z ;).

Indeed, I doubt Kojima would dissappoint us since he hasn't so far.

Yeah, although I wasn't a huge fan of Raiden in MGS2, I greatly admired him in MGS4 :). I really liked how he was there for Old Snake all the way, and covered for Snake even after losing BOTH arms (whoa!!!).

I guess I felt it was more fitting if raiden went out sacrificing himself for snake

Same thoughts here :). I, too, was rather surprised that Raiden survived the events of MGS4 and even got his entire "biological body" back at the end of the game (Although he did kind of looked like a patched-up doll in the hospital.).

After Act 4, I really thought he was dead too O.O! Then surprise, he wasn't LOL. And I was like "Really, he survived that?". Would have really added more "oomph" to the character if died saving Snake. It was kind of cool though when he pinned his foot to the ground to stop Outer Haven.

Oh well, I guess considering the state of the world in the MGS4 universe, we needed all the happy endings we could get :). (Now if only Snake didn't kill Big Boss and Adamska with FoxDie...Ugh >.<).

They can't exactly bring solid snake back since he's pretty well screwed over.
