When i play the game online as soon as i get connected, a message appears telling me i cant create my own session because of the settings on my router. I seen a post similar to this previosuly but cant find it. can any1 help?

try posting on the mgs movie boards or the mgs4 boad theres way more ppl on

If you type it in the gamefaqs forum you will get alot of help. I had the problem and fixed it in 2 hours. It's just creating a static ip address and forwarding ports on your router, i never knew what i was doing but i followed instructions and it worked out fine.

in order to host u need to have a direct connection...modem to the ps2..no router

Thats not true, because i have a router and i host all my games. I did have a connection problem to start with though, but eventually, i enabled something called 'Upnp' within my router setup and it sorted the problem and allowed me to host games. By default, my router disabled this feature.

Do you have a linksys router? I have one, and I have no troubles doing anything!

Thanks everyone for the help. But my new router which i got with Sky Broadband has everything sorted, and I created a static IP address.
