Is it worth buying for Metal Gear 1 and 2 alone?

I want this game, but are the 2 metal gear games worth spending the $30+ to play em?

I assume you haven't played metal gear solid 1 and 2 right? To be perfectly honest for quite some time I really liked 1 and 2 better. Maybe I still do. It took me quite some time to get used to the feeling of being in a jungle since I liked the atmosphere of being in buildings better. In short- yes it is worth it. I think those games are incredible and they're the kind of game I'd like to play in long stretches since they're so compelling with great storylines CG's and dialogue. However if you're the kind of person that needs great new graphics all the time- you'll be disappointed with MGS 1 but in my view a game doesn't need great graphics to be a great game, and it's not that long anyway. 10 hours or less i believe. Hope that helps. Also I asked a question about the pack on the MGS 4 board and got a much faster response. I feel bad for you for having to wait for so long.

It's worth it for the secret cinema and moveable camera alone IMO, this game is expensive now tho.

Absolutely worth it. I'd say MG2: Solid Snake is up there with any of the MGS titles in terms of story! It's *beep* excellent!

No. I got pretty bored with them. The main game's a blast though!

Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake is what I bought this game for. It's better than Snake Eater. And bloody 10000x better than MGS4.

So to answer your question. Yes.

I'll be honest, MG1 wasn't that great by today's gaming standards. However I thought MG2 was pretty good for the age of the game. I had more fun with it than I expected to. I think it's worth it if only just to get the complete Metal Gear canon experience.

Yeah, Metal Gear 1 hasn't aged well at all. It's very rough around the edges, doesn't have much of a story and the music is repetitive and there's plenty of bugs.

Metal Gear 2 improves on all of these aspect, it's an amazing game.
