JK, I guess, the best advice is to lose as little life as possible beforehand and get as many health packs saved as possible while you are fighting in the trenches. Conserve your rocket ammo when you are playing the trenches. Try to take the trench systems with machine guns and grenades only.

My advice for the hole level is:

1) in the first part at the very start, be armed with the M1 Garand and the BAR. Clear the trenches using plenty of cover. Try to move efficiently with a low profile and behind armor (there are plenty of friendly tanks and downed german tanks) while completing the airstrike objective and anything else (it's been a while since I've played). When you have to take out the king tigers in the back, move within grenade range of the German line (like in a shell crater), throw a grenade at a position, switch to your BAR and run so that you are getting out just as the grenade starts to go off (this usually draws the AI out of the safety of the trench to shoot at you, only to get themselves blown up). Use that trench for cover and just be an absolute crazy mo-fo with both guns, jumping in and out of trenches. You really have to work yourself up to do this. Remember it's only a game and you won't get killed in real life, so don't be a wuss. It also helps to shout, "KILL KILL KILL!"

Try to use as few grenades as possible and be smart about cover (remember where certain positions are by playing the level a few times), so you can just whip around the back of the tanks. Take out the MG box at the very back by flanking to the left and killing everyone in it (make sure to get the center part too, grenade works there). Take out the tanks with the explosive charges. Pick up a bazooka to take out the roving tank whenever it seems necessary (this depends from play to play). Take VERY careful consideration in COMPLETELY clearing out ALL of the trenches before moving onto the second part of the trench system (when the AI americans tell you to follow them and you go over the top of that mound to the other side of the map). Try to stay away from that part anyway, so as to prevent accidentally triggering that part of the game. You've got to make sure you've done EVERYTHING you would ever want to do on that side of the map (finding health packs/ other health pickups, extra ammo, better weapons, etc.)

When done, get ready and then run like hell to the back (American) side of the other side of the map. You can get LOTS of pickups (especially bazooka ammo, plus some other ammo). I recommend trying to finish this part of the level up in such a way as to leave yourself with a bazooka with plenty of ammo and an STG-44, which, in this game, is in the same class as the BAR, but holds more ammo. Again, hit 'em fast and hard, conserve grenades. Try to use the grenades on the tanks only, so as to save bazooka ammo. When you have killed all or most of the German infantry, advance up the hill toward the tank looming up there (it can't hit you, really). When you get close to it, an allied air-strike will hit it. Turn around immediately, head back down the hill, and clear out all the rest of the trenches. Usually, when these small battles are over, the enemy AI (meaning both the Americans and Germans) don't seek each other out. They lay low until you come into range. There are usually a couple of Germans left, just kill them by standing outside of the trench system and raining fire on them from above and about 5 feet away, they're pretty easy to spot before they can get you. When done with the mop-up, scrounge for stuff again. Like I said before, it's best to have as many grenades, health packs, and bazooka rounds as possible. Make sure all objectives that can be completed so far are completed. Be armed with a bazooka (even if it has only one round in it), and an STG-44 with plenty of ammo.

Go to the top of the incline. From here, your squad is no longer yours; they peel of and you're on your own. Keep a low profile coming up to the boxes so the 2 MG crews can't hit you when you come within range. Use the lean commands to your advantage (especially, when crouched, you can use the aim button, plus the analog stick forward to peek over the top and shoot them in the head before they can fully see you. There are three men to a gun. It's not hard to kill off both crews without being hit once. When done, secure the area. Let your commander finish giving you his advice. Set the charge on the door, and arm yourself with the STG-44. When the door blows, aim down the hall and crouch. Snipe the MG gunner at the end of the hall. Kill anyone who trys to take up the gun. Remember that using an automatic rifle means that you should fire in bursts. I find the STG-44 works best in this game by rapid single-shot only, sort of like playing paintball, if you've ever done that. Kill anyone who comes into the are, but don't go down the hall, just stay at the entrance crouched. When there is no more movement for a good while, equip grenades (like I said, you'll want to have probably 3 at least), stand up, cook the grenade a little as you jog toward the MG position, and release it at the end of the hall so it stays there (and doesn't bounce back at you. Turn around and run back to the entrance again, this will lure out and kill any bad guys. Mop up with you're automatic if needed.

Make sure you've got a full clip and carefully head down the hallway. When you are within a few feet of the gun and where the hallway t-bones, take one route ( I recommend the left) and turn there. This hallway leads to the same direction as the entrance and, in fact, to the MG positions at the front of the building (there's no one here, so don't worry). I just use this as a place to stay safe, get health/ammo, cover your back from here and then head cautiously back down and clear out the area. Like I said, be carefull, and you'll be fine. There's also a small room somewhere around there that's got health and ammo and stuff.

Anyway, once you get to the part where the main baddie starts to talk to you, stop, take out your grenades, and cook 'em off just as you come up to the doorway where you turn right to go down that hall where the mass of Germans come at you. Chuck you're grenade right into the middle and switch to your machine gun. Use your cover and kill them. Use another grenade if you have to. When you're done mopping up and it's time to go up the stairs, make sure you have full health and full-loaded weapon. Make sure your bazooka is fully loaded as well.

Have your STG-44 ready, and charge up there. Before the Germans start to spawn all over the place, I'd say this is a good time to use your adrenaline, just as you come out the door at the top of the stairs. Off as many of the germans as you can with that gun, switch to your bazooka, and see the open window at the top of where that staircase you were just on is supposed to go. That's where the main guy is. Fire off your bazooka round into that window. I think that kills him. If not, fire another bazooka round up there or throw grenades if you're out. If you're all out of explosives and he's not dead, it becomes much harder. You'll have to find some sort of cover and shoot at him as you battle the hordes of men coming after you. One he's dead, go back to the place where you came up from, the door that was shut at the top of the stairs is now open, go up quickly, and through a couple of rooms (watch for bad guys, of course. I think there's only a couple up there). The second room is the one with the switch it's pretty obvious, so you don't really have to hunt for it. Pull it, and cover you back to make sure you don't die.

You win. THE END

Wow,thats alot to read.I'll give it a shot (Cheers)
I prob never woulda figured that out.I mean I would just run round looking for an opening shooting germans after killing Von Schroeder
Felt like it took me forever to finish though

all i did was collected all of the bazooka ammo I could and used it on tanks only when necessary, that way once you get into the final room with von shrader on the balcony, you eliminate the guys on the ground with you as quick as you can then pepper the balcony with bazooka fire, that way it kills both von shrader and any field personnel trying to repel down the wall with you

A lot of people use the bazooka approach, which does work very well. However, carrying the bazooka leaves you with one gun to use in the bunker.
I usually carry the M1 and the STG44 and try to keep my adrenaline for the showdown.
As you emerge and von Shrader starts shooting, you can hit the adrenaline then jump up onto the boxes just underneath the window that he is shooting from. If you can get into position before the adrenaline runs out, then you can get an angle on his head.
From here, you can just start emptying your M1 - job done.
Just something to think about if you do lose your bazooka or run out of shells.

In my way I don't use bazookas. Bazookas load slowly and only kill a few ppl even when fired at large groups. Here's a way withot zooks.
I just save my adrenaline until the last part when we get into Von Schraeders bunker. Get past the door and the clock will start ticking. Activate adrenaline. KILL KILL KILL. You should be able to kill the majority of them with adrenaline. I find i cannot do this part without adrenaline (only once). once all dead then go to the open place or "courtyard" where the a-bomb is located. You will not need adrenaline here: lay a couple of headshots onto Von Shraeder with the BAR when he mans the machine gun FAST. If you don't do it fast you will be facing hordes of Germans magically jumping out of the balcony and landing somehow safely onto the ground. Little tip, before u get into the open area chuck a grenade at the crates just under the balcony because there are a few guys there already. Then you should run undercover behind the first crate of boxes in the a-bomb area because his machine gun can't reach there for some reason. Only a few shots r needed from the BAR to his head when u peek over the boxes. Mop up any stray Germans that have the chance to get out of the balcony. Germans only come out when Schraeder is still alive. Keep that in mind.
in one situation without adrenaline i just kept on throwing grenades which made the enemy freak out and try to kick them away which killed most of them because they were kicking them off the walls. That was enough to leave me with an easier time getting through. In fact combine the way that u guys got through the german mass in the bunker (2nd post) and the way that i killed von schrader. You'll be suprised to see that u don't need adrenaline.
