Should've had Deathproof first

I think that because of the scope of the two films, it would have made better sense to have Planet Terror appear second. Possibly because the climax is a little more wild, it would have worked better as the ending film.

I loved this movie, but I think the ending to Deathproof was too little of a payoff after sitting through 3 hrs of these films.

Does anyone else have an opinion on this?

I think you're right about this and the only reason I can think of as to why they did it this way, is because Tarantino was considered the "bigger director". So maybe the powers that be thought that QT was the bigger draw and they wanted audiences to stay put for the second half?

It also would have made a bit more sense to have Death Proof first, as some of the characters from PT are featured in the hospital scenes of Death Proof.

I also loved the whole Grindhouse experience, but yeah, I did think the payoff of Death Proof wasn't strong enough.

Since I like Planet Terror better, I prefer it being first, cause then you can just walk out before Death Proof starts. I honestly did not like that movie at all. But when it comes to audiences first going in, you don't know how you feel about the movie anyway, so you will want to stay for both.

But I actually thought the same thing while watching it, is that Planet Terror feels more like a climatic ending movie, of the two.

I am glad it was in the order that it was in. It kept me in my seat for all 3 1/2 hours.

I saw this movie at the theater the week before easter in 2007 and am glad I saw it. I liked Death Proof more than Planet Terror; however, I agree with how the movie was structured with Planet Terror playing first and then Death Proof. I felt that Planet Terror went on too long. Towards the end I was wondering when the movie will end and when the movie finally did end, it was like the movie ended without a reason other then to be over, which I was glad it did end. Death Proof started off slow with no action and all dialog. Listening to the three girls talking in the car and then in the bar was interesting. It did not matter what they were talking about. All that mattered was that it kept my attention. When the guy was chasing with his car the girls who were in a car they were test driving, that really kept my attention. When the girls were beating the hell out of the guy, I was rooting for them to win. When the movie ended in the middle of the fight, I was shocked and very disappointed and confused; it left me wondering what could have happened after the fight. If Death Proof would have aired first, the feeling I had towards the ending of the movie would have ruined Planet Terror because that is all I would have thought about, the ending to Death Proof.

I agree because in one of the scenes in planet Terror, Tammy aka Fergie in her broken down car is listening to a radio broadcast announcer talking about Jungle Julia Rip showing that it just happened and would there fore be right after Death Proof.

When I got to watching death Proof and learned who Jungle Julia was I was like ok so this Bitch is going to die somewhere along the lines. Sucks because I liked her character and knew she was going to die now and it wasn't going to surprise me but it still did because it was one of the best car mutilation crashes I've seen in a movie. That leg ripping off and Vanessa Ferlito getting a tire to the face was brutal.

I actually like Planet Terror being the first one, cause since I don't like Death Proof, I would recommend that you just walk out after the Planet Terror showing.
