This film is a ripoff of Quintron + Miss Pussycat

I have seen this film and was shocked to see two of my friends have their lives ripped off and be made fun of.

Any of you that have seen this film check out the link and then you tell me.

http://www.quintronandmisspussycat.com

Give me "Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny" vs this bullsh*t feature.

I clicked the link, I've seen the movie...how exactly was the movie ripping them off other than the name "Pussycat" and the location being in New Orleans?

reply

The name of the character in this film isn't even the same.
It's "Miss Pussy Katz"

reply

These characters are NOTHING like Quintron and Pussy Cat... just lightly referencing them is all. Anyway... the movie was OK, except for the sorry ass sound track.

Why should they get credit? Have you ever read a book or watched a movie... please, writers of fiction ALWAYS use the people thy meet in real life. I'm sorry, I do not give writing credit to an ex-lover when I write a story about a failed relationship. It's my story and I wrote it... they are certainlty welcome to write their own version. All experience and people are fair game.

Other than the name, HOW is she like miss pussy cat????

And that guy is a whiny indie-rocker...HOW is that like Quintron??????

Anyway... it was SUCH a sub-par movie, I'm not sure they would WANT credit.

Firstly, Mr. Quintron has a bit of cheek here.

It IS a really lackluster movie, so I don't particularly want to defend it. I just take issue with your idea of "rip off." Every great writer, every BAD writer, uses the people they meet in life - and unless it's COMPLETELY about those people, NO, you do not need to give credit - Neither legally OR morally. I mean... if I Must, I'll post a list of great novels and films that were influenced by someone someone knew in real life.

I don't really see why you need to call me names because I don't agree with you. Your lack of grace makes it quite clear you are doing NO favors to Quintron or Pussycat by "defending" them.

I said lightly, not highly.

And no, Quintron was not totally serious... its his sense of humor. If you were an actual fan, or if you had ever met him you would know that.

I'm not defending the movie, I just think it's idiotic to run around talking about people ripping things off... it's basically ENDLESS. I mean Quintron and Pussycat themselves have coped a few ideas from REAL New Orleans Characters like the wonderful Ruthie The Duck Lady for instance, who died this week. And Quintron's humor and language is totally influenced by Ignatius from the Confederacy of Dunces. David Bowie coped more than a few things. This in no way detracts from their brilliance. Its just how it works - and you're the one who is trite if you think you have some higher moral authority about creativity, or if you think any things you love are "pure."

Your lack of sophistication is a bore... and is an affront to taste and decency.

Are you this obnoxious in real life, or is this just an online persona? And once again, great detective work. Not many people can click on links like you.

BTW, that question was rhetorical. I'm sick of reading your garbage, so you can say whatever you want, I won't see it.

I didn't even KNOW you could edit these posts, so no, I didn't edit anything. I didn't disappear, I don't spend THAT much time on boards.

Yes, actually, I am pals with Quintron and Pussycat - which is no big deal, because I'm from New Orleans, a pretty small city. It's not like they live in a castle in the clouds or something.

I only WATCHED the movie because of what Quintron said. Think about it.

"..an affront to taste and decency. " is referencing Ignatius from Confederacy of Dunces. You just DON"T GET IT at all. Crack a book. Have you even BEEN to New Orleans???

You are just being silly now.

I know them because I lived by them, did projects and shows at Pussycat Caverns (which no longer exists) and just basically hung out in the same places. New Orleans is a very small scene.

Humph. I wish I was 17.

I'll just take you off ignore long enough to point out that IMDb has changed the boards to automatically indicate when someone updates their posts. Looks like ralph-171 did not edit his post. Guess you'll have to come up with a new harassment technique.

You have serious issues... probably, you are just bored.

Quintron does NOT like the movie, all I was saying is that he is overemphasizing it to be funny. That is the way he talks and writes. Are you actually a fan??? Quintron has a massive sense of humor and Irony - don't you LISTEN to the music? Where in my posts did I say he likes the movie, or that I particularly cared for it? I think you are arguing with your own fictional characters, that is why you are silly.

Look I'm not going to argue with you about being a part of "scene," because in N.O people don't really think that way. but I am actually from New Orleans, and from the neighborhood and I pray that someone as obnoxious as you stays away. Because N.O is all about friends, community and hospitality.
