I played hundreds of hours of Skyrim before I picked this game up and holy Hell. It ruins the game. You get used to the awesomeness of the graphics of Skyrim and all the stuff you can do in it.
shareI had the same issue when I played Oblivion first and then tried to play Morrowind afterwards. I could just not get into it at all. It seemed so dated and primative by comparison.

As far as "stuff you can do". Oblivion easily has just as much as Skyrim to do in it.

I haven't played Skyrim, and I only just started Oblivion, so I have no frame of reference, but three of my closest friends all said they preferred Oblivion after playing through both games. They had nothing but praise for Skyrim, they just preferred Oblivion.
And FURTHERMORE, this is my signature! SERIOUSLY! Did you think I was still talking about my point?
Oblivion was great in 2006 and still is a great game; especially if you play on PC. The use of cosmetic & gameplay mods (OOO, WAC etc…) make for an absolutely beautiful game still in today's standard.
Plus the quality of story mods that have been developed throughout the years (and still are) can compare to the quality of the DLCs. (Lost Spire etc…)
Finally nothing can match the feeling of getting out the sewer and looking at Cyrodiil for the first time...priceless.

I played Skyrim first but then decided i would wait a while before playing Oblivion, that way my "pallette" would be cleared. So as far as look & feel, Oblivion didnt seem too different. But im noticing its wayyy harder than Skyrim, to the point where im not sure if I'll continue. I lose health so godamn easily in fights
