This Movie Sticks With You

I liked this movie even though it's not a super original story. Having said that, it's a very sweet story. I am a huge fan of independent movies, and this was clearly not a big budget film. If it has a good story, it doesn't need all that money. Both of the characters have poignant arcs. James Franco and Sienna Miller are great in this one. In a strange way, this film is an epic. It's just my opinion, but that's what these message boards are about.

& I agree.

I liked it too...it was a weird combination of things, like Death Becomes Her + Romance, but in its own way, it was strangely beautiful.
Sienna Miller is wonderful.

David Carradine was so proud of these movie when he was talking in various interviews.

Have to agree! It wasn't one of the best movies I've seen over the years but it does stick with you. The acting was pretty well done from Miller to Glenn (my favorite!) Quite sad but also very sweet. I enjoyed it a lot!

i just caught this movie on tv while having some trouble sleeping and it took me here to this forum right away, so obviously i agree. it impressed me in a way. Imo, it is not a great movie by any means but there's definitely something there to leave a mark if you are in a certain state of mind. I enjoyed it.

i agree that the story is powerful and sticks with you. however, i am curious as to why people keep saying it isn't "original"? is there another movie out there with a similar storyline? if so, I am not aware of it.
Coach McGuirk: All right, listen up, that was a good game. We all showed up, and I'm proud of that.

I'm right there witcha, witch. If there's another movie out there with the same storyline, I haven't seen it. I guess maybe Ghost is something like it, but that's a real stretch.

Even the "rom-com formula" is thrown out the window. The usual formula is: (1) Boy & girl meet, (2) Boy & girl fall in love, (3) Boy & girl break up for some stupid reason, (4) Boy & girl get back together.

This movie departs from that completely. It starts out with a lousy relationship and shows us how it slowly starts to work. That plus the totally surreal plot makes it a true original as far as I've seen.

This movie was a nice little fairy tale.
One scene I will never ever forget is the sneezing scene in the elevator. That scene was epic.
I think, I have never in my film history seen a film with such pure humor. Normally movies try to have either extreme intellegent humor or it is farting humor. The humor in this film was so down-to-earth that you could actually call it original!

For what it was, this movie really surprised me positively, mostly because of its high-spirited charme and fairy-tale story-line. Silias and Camille met half-way when facing death. Silias learned to appreciate the people around him and Camille learned to adjust to Silias.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed this darkly twisted modern day fairy tale romance. This is movie is the real Corpse Bride. I loved Sienna and her performance, exaggerated Southern drawl and all.

It sticks with me because I'm like what the *beep* did I just waste 2 hours of my life watching?

I agree with you. I didn't get the whole movie, but I found it beautiful and I loved every minute of it. I just found it so meaningful....
