Am I the only one?

SO, am I actually the only person who lived close to Bray Road (and I mean five minutes away, not a couple of counties away) who is actually excited for this movie? I think it is an absolute hoot. All of the complaints I've read on this board, are things that I adore about this. Mind you I haven't seen the movie yet, but a lot of things that people are writing here are well deserved.

Alright let's look at this. I remember being scared as a little kid when reports started coming out. None of us had any idea what was going on, we had just gotten reports of sighting and carcasses of farm animals on the side of the road. Imagine being a little kid with an overactive imagination while adults around you are losing their heads about a werewolf that hunts within five minutes from where you live. Now imagine the dissapointment when you learn that not only did they eventually find the Beast of Bray Road, but it turned out to be some farmer's dog that was out playing with local coyotes. That's right, the Beast of Bray Road was just a dog, not even a wolf or some feral canine, a dog.

Next, those of you worried about them-there LA types portraying us Wisconsinites as buncha not smart bumpkins, cause we know we ain't no hicks... You obviously don't live in the area. If I don't see someone flying a Confederate flag on the back of their pickup truck (even though Wisconsin was in the Union), I will be sorely dissapointed. This is an area of the country where an oppossum that wouldn't leave the K-Mart parking lot and the police had to call backup for it made front page news, two days in a row three years ago. (No I'm not kidding.)

I'm just excited that we're going to get some notoriety for this and I am on pins and needles for eight o'clock tonight. I just hope we don't get a lot of facts screwed up about the area. (I only say this because I saw The Lake House the other day and was shocked to learn that there was apparently a train station in Madison that I apparently spent four years of college not knowing about... Oh right, it's not there.)

So to all of you that live in the area and are complaining, sit back and enjoy the fact that we are about to become part of Americana Mythos. Those of you complaining that vaguely live "in the area," don't complain and don't treat it like people who live in a suburb and say "I'm from Chicago." If you live in Walworth county, yeah sure, you've got some claim.

Dear lord, I'm actually admitting that I'm from this area, and what's more, I'm putting down people posing like they are from the same place. I think I'll stop now.

Good. The websites don't give that fact. Thanks.

Heh, a train station in Madison? heh.

But yeah, I didn't even know there was a movie about this. Interesting. I thought the Beast was just a Wisconsin thing, but apparently it's nationally known. I drove on Bray road during driving lessons, and this halloween, my friends and I are planning to walk down it. Spoooky. I live about 5-10 minutes away from it, so yes, I'm from Walworth County. I'll have to check out this movie...if I feel like watching something badly made. Heh.

I just had a buddy bring this DVD to me, so I decided to get a heads up online. He said his cousin "loved it," b-movie fanatic that he happens to be and all; but the friend that brought it to me didn't quite like it as much. Anyway, I think I will "try" to get my eyes to stay open while I watch it this weekend. But honestly it looks -- well, stupid -- on the box I mean [shrugz]. I sure hope it isn't as bad as I am guessing. Then after hearing it was nothing but a dog . . . [smh].

Of course it just a dog or coyote, or some other quadpedal. The idea that it was some sort of werewolf or other unknown creature is ludicrous. People believe what they want to believe and in these types of situations, people would rather believe that it must be something supernatural and not mundane, like a dog. Same thing with religion. People just don't want to think critically about the world around them.

I'm dissapointed that it's only a dog! I live in Johnson Creek, Jefferson County and I was planning on going out there with a couple of friends. But just a dog? :[ That sucks.
