Impossible to watch

Well - I went into this (figuratively) with an open mind, very keen to see shots of the Russian Metro, and boy was I disappointed. The camerawork is appalling, jerking about all over the place. It really made it a headache to watch - very uncomfortable viewing. Yes the metro was there but no shot lasted for longer than about a quarter of a second, shots of the ground and walls and peoples' bags, really horrible. I'm very sorry to say this but I never want to see another film by this team.

I agree 100%. I have noticed this trend in films over the last few years of the camera constantly moving and the shots flashing so fast that it is difficult to tell what the hell is going on. I guess the producers think that this artistic. I think that it is just damned annoying. This film is like staring into a strobe light for an hour and 15 minutes. The idea for this film was good but the camera work was horrible.

I agree as well. My interest was visuals of urban exploration. But we got a constantly moving camera, ridiculous extreme close ups, and virtually no establishing shots. This film could have been ok had they bothered to hold the camera still once in a while.

I'm glad there are still a few people who can't stand this kind of "film making," if you can even call it that.

I wanna know where all the wanna-e Kubricks are, holding a shot for several minutes. But seriously, this looked like daddy gave them some money to make a movie, so they took every interesting in modern cinematography and overdid it. There was a flashback scene where, for no reason, the exposure goes back and forth. WTF?

You got it OP.
It's like a high school video project made by a bunch of teenagers who "discovered" what they believe is a new oh-so-cool moviemaking style....which is actually so overdone now it's old news.
And the main plot element or reveal is just as overused and silly.
Horrible movie.

Tell this guy his camera work sucks. I had to stop watching after about 15 or 20 minutes.

You should change the name of the title to "Impossible for ME to watch". It does require a strong attention span and possibly multiple viewings to get it all. I only hate shaky cams when there done in mockumentary style movies. Its fits in this movie because there supposed to be dreamlike flash sequences.

I liked it. This movie definitely doesn't deserve such a low rating.

I knew there was a reason why old school film makers said "Hold the camera still long enough to establish a scene" not jerk the camera as fast as humanly possible until the advance tosses THIER cookies! Wow.. I yelled at my son once when he was videoing a dance at school. I told him make sure you don't jerk the camera, nice smoth shots, precise, pan, tilt smoth, as if it were being pulled by a silk thread.... Guess these guys thought to pull the camera with a braided stainless steel line until the camera housings. Racked ! Horrible. Wow.. A cool million shot (litterly) down the tubes... Mjc..

Interesting that much of it took place on a train, because the film was one big train wreck.

Sorry, but people with kids (or even a 1% chance of getting pregnant) don't get to do any extreme sports and get zero sympathy if they do. In fact, they should be sterilized for neck tattoos!
