i agree i'm cool with vegetarians but vegans thats just a little weird. i dont think i would do all the eating of meat and stuff in front of them but it would be hard to be around one cuz i eat meat and stuff
It's interesting that it irks you so much. Why do you care? There is a logic too it in health terms, and ethical terms can produce convinving arguments for, as well.
It's worth asking why you are vegetarian, because for the same reasons you'll find most vegans chose to eat that way.
I test everything on animals, mwahahahahaha! (except for any "romantic" maneuvers.. thus far)
I hate vegans, too. And I AM one. The only difference being is that I eat this way because it's a great way to keep my weight down. Plus, there's the gross factor: milk products have pus in them from the cow's nipples getting so worn down from the machines, and eggs come more a menstrating/ovulating chicken (crack open an egg one morning and have blood pour out, and you'll suddenly become vegan).
The cows themselves, though? Meh, who cares. I wear leather. Maybe it makes me like Ed Gein, but I don't care, and it's legal. I kill spiders, I poison rats. It's not respect for life or organisms. Give me a steak, and I may as well have a slice of a cross-section of a human leg. They're basically the same thing, so maybe people should be happy I draw the line at NO flesh in my diet, since once I open the floodgates I don't see where to draw the line. Really, what makes a human any more sacred? Some people have lower IQ's than cows.
For some people like myself, luckily, veganism is just about the diet/health/nonfatness idea instead of any fruitcake Moby crap. (I'd rather just stick to my salads and fruit salads and get my BMI back under 16 where it belongs. Mentally ill, who, me?)
