* 2010 Haiti earthquake * Columbine High School massacre * General Slocum fire * 1989 San Francisco earthquake * Great Chicago Fire * Halifax explosion
Would like to see those too but don't see how they could do Columbine. It was definitely a tragedy, but it's not like a structural failure or vehicular disaster with a chain of seemingly-unrelated events that trigger the disaster.
My list:
* Minnesota bridge collapse, 2007 * Toronto subway crash, 1995 * MTS Oceanus sinking, 1991 * Black Friday, 1987
The Halifax Explosion would be my top choice. Other suggestions (in no particular order):
* SS Eastland capsizing (Chicago, IL, 1915) * Iroquois Theater fire (Chicago, IL, 1903) * Cocoanut Grove Nightclub fire (Boston, MA, 1942) * Hillsborough Stadium stampede (Sheffield, England, 1989) * MV Doña Paz fire/sinking (Philippines, 1987) * Baikonur Cosmodrome R-16 rocket explosion (Nedelin, USSR, 1960) * SS Sultana explosion (Memphis, TN, 1865) * Brooklyn Theatre fire (Brooklyn, NY, 1876) * Beverly Hills Supper Club fire (Southgate, KY, 1977) * Our Lady of the Angels School fire (Chicago, IL, 1958) * My Lai massacre (Viet Nam, 1968) * Dubrovka Theater massacre (Moscow, Russia, 2002) * Enschede fireworks factory explosion (Enschede, Netherlands, 2000) * Texas City fertilizer ship explosion (Texas City, TX, 1947) * Los Alfaques tanker truck explosion (Alcanar, Spain, 1978) * New London School explosion (New London, TX, 1937) * Rana Plaza collapse (Dhaka, Bangladesh, 2013) * Royal Plaza Hotel collapse (Khorat, Thailand, 1993) * Le Mans racing accident (Le Mans, France, 1955) * Sknyliv air show crash (Lviv, Ukraine, 2002) * Versailles wedding hall collapse (Talpiot, Jerusalem, 2001) * Port Arthur massacre (Port Arthur, Australia, 1996)
