The plot had more holes than a swiss cheese

Let me start by saying that as a piece of entertainment it was ok, certainly nothing to stay in for, but if you want to fill an hour and a half of your time and don't have anything better to do such as clean the drains or delouse a rat then I suppose it's worth watching, however some of the gaping holes in the plot were infuriating, the two main characters come across as being pretty thick.

WARNING: SPOILERS

Hole Number 1

You're looking for your suspect and you find his secret lair (his clinic) do you

a) covertly stake it out and nab further suspects when they turn up ?

or

b) go blundering in with bolt cutters and get discovered ?

Hole number 2

A girl who holds a vital piece of the puzzle is rushed into hospital in an ambulance, she then absconds from said hospital and you have to find her, but you have no idea where she lives. Do you

a) Ask the ambulance driver for the address where they picked her up?

b) Give a sample of her blood to the police for them to search a DNA database and hope that she has a criminal record so you can get her address that way (some 12 or so hours later)

Hole number 3

You are a renegade scientist and you need to make a speedy escape do you

a) use a helicopter/fast car/motorbike ?

b) order yourself a black cab because there is no way that the police will be able to catch it, radio the driver, locate it on their inbuilt transponder or ask the driver where he dropped you off.

Actually now I come to think of it, maybe the drains do need looking at.

Being on the run from social services, I think it's safe to assume she wouldn't go home, and she was in an emergency ward, so she probably left before they took her details

I think that you can probably safely assume that you shouldn't comment on tv programmes that you've only seen half of (although I must admit I do admire your cajones for doing so)

But as a matter of fact she did go home, back to the same flat from where she was taken in the ambulance.

Oh and the licence plate of the cab was on clear view, a quick phone call to the old bill would have had gepetto caught in about 5 minutes

Firstly I would like to apologise for my less than civil tone, it was typed wiith tongue firmly in cheek, but that's the problem with typing, when you can't hear the inflection of someones voice then tings can be taken the wrong way, so again, sorry if it caused offence, there was none intended. (by the way I like the hollow drum analogy, i'm going to use that myself from now on).

And yes gepetto lives to fight another day (no doubt in the next series) I wonder if the writer would have got away with the same plot holes if the programme was for the BBC or Channel 4, I mean have you seen thhe ITV news recently ? talk about dumbing down.
