Similar to ReGenesis?

Is this series, like ReGenesis? When you read about it, it sort of seems like it's the same idea, but with one man instead of a team... I like ReGenesis and since they are going to make a new version of the series (http://imdb.com/title/tt1118697/), I was wondering if it may be worth watching.
