Haven't you ever used or heard this phrase before? Things like "it was saved at the eleventh hour" etc. It's even defined on Wikipedia as:
"The eleventh hour is an expression referring to the last moments before a deadline or the imminence of a decisive or "final" moment." As the show is about saving people/the earth or whatever from deadly viruses, I guess it gets it's title from the fact that each episode goes down to the wire (I hope you know what THAT means) before the end. I'm really surprised that you're not familiar with the expression.

Well, now you know :-)

The question does not clearly convey confusion about the phrase, but about why it was used. If someone asked, "Why is it called "Harold and Maude"? and no characters of that name were seen in the script, that too would be a legit. question, you would (hopefully) not answer with "those are given names from the .......tradition.....

Would you?

OK, "11th hour", "last minute", "nick of time", whatever. The published synopsis does not read like something with a tight timeframe that makes the title obvious in its meaning or connection to the story. There has to be a better answer than yours.

I agree with the Queen of Anarchy on this one simply from the nature of the stories. It episode it is critical that something is done so both the name & the explanation makes sense to me.
