urinate and...eggs?

Early in the film after Raimond sent the eggs to the old man, did the old man piss into the bowl and then boil the eggs in it?! What is that scene supposed to mean?

What made the universe made me.

It means the dude didn't have water.

Just getting by with whatever he had.

Due to the autobigraphical nature of the story, I would tend to think that was true to life as it seems too odd to make up

The funny thing is that as the shot widens, we can see a body of water not that far from where they were eating...

Get a brain, morans!

I read the book and Raymond describes the old guy boiling eggs in his own pee, bless him.

It seemed a bit weird to me that Rai thought to bring cutlery and dishes and salt, but not water.

It's sort of a long trek. Maybe he got really thirsty and drank it all along the way. Or maybe he did bring water, but the old codger was up to his old tricks again and conveniently forgot to use it.

Would you happen to have any... flan?
