Did any bit make you cry? (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

This is for all you people who love that warm and fuzzy feeling - what made you misty-eyed?

I felt so much for the child. He was like the little adult of the family. It's amazing how strong he was despite all the trauma at such a young age, and how he held it together more than any of the adults. They were practically all insane (Even the guy with the eggs... did he boil them in his urine??? I couldn't believe what I thought I saw!). I cried when his father said, "Don't ever think I don't love you." Such beautiful, moving, tender performances, particularly by Mr. Bana and Mr. Smit-McPhee!

I was affected the most right after the fadeout. The fact that there seemed to be some hope in their lives after everything they'd been through, and the way this was portrayed in such a simple and subtle way, finally hit me at that moment.

Porfle:I was affected the most right after the fadeout.

I have had this happen a few times, and I think in these cases, the mind finally digests everything by the end of the film, and presents all of it to the heart, and the heart now can feel what it's going to feel.

The odd filming flow, editing, story flow, style etc, kept me trying to figure it out and my connection was a bit abstract, I'm afraid. However, I am loathe to complain, since when a film has jewels in it like this one does, it bears another viewing to see how it connects, and the filmmaker must have his day if he has a vision.

It was not pleasant to watch the first parts of it, because of the seemingly relentless heartbreaking events, but eventually it assembled itself and gave us the beauty and resolution at the end.

I will most likely see this again and I think it will have gained for me, the second time.

Although advice is given to be loyal to your script, I believe they made the right decisions to keep to the memoir as much as they did.

Honestly, I cried through a good 75% of this movie. I can't remember the last time a movie made me cry this much.

Yeah, I cried in the part where Romulus fell to his knees and cried. What a wonderful film!

The bit where Raimond, played outstandingly by kodi smit mcphee, shoots to the air and then breaks down and starts crying. It's like at that time he realizes how screwed up he is, it's like he has been holding it together for the most part of the film, but at that point, it's just to much to handle, and as an audience I definitely felt that desperation for Raimond, honestly Smit-Mcphee was incredible, I look forward to seeing him in "the Road".
Great film and an ultimately hopeful ending. Congrats to everyone involved.

SPOILER

I cried when Mitru beat Christina before he committed suicide and I cried when Raimond told the director (?) of the school that if his mother was ever to ask for him again, he didn't want to see her for the time being.

But well, I cried most of the time, but at these moments the most. =:'(
