Auteuil is old!
Don't you guys think that Daniel Auteuil is a little old to take the role as Napoleon?

I'm assuming this is another Napoleon on St. Helena story. IMHO Auteuil is perfect for this role (as compared to Pacino, who's also scheduled to do a St. Helena movie).
shareAuteuil is a good choice, he's a great actor. I don't think he's too old to play Napoleon.
shareNapoleon was 51 when he died and Auteuil is about 55 now so it's close enough to work.
"Thank you, thank you--you're most kind. In fact you're every kind."
It sounds like it is set on Elba which would make Napoleon 45
As malcolm_mccallum said the film is set on Elba. I've seen the movie and Auteil is perfect for the role. It's not easy to have the charisma of a great figure as Napoleon, and Auteil it's on the level with it. I suggest you to see the movie (which I thought it was very good) and then judge for yourself.
shareAuteil is perfect! He's a so good actor and his French accent in Italian is so lovely!
Only one thing is relly different from him to N: the eyes, they're too circolar.
I don´t see the problem at all. Auteuil is one of the greatest actors we do have among us. It might have been possible to find a better "double" for Napoleon, but would he have brought this kind of performance? I don´t think so.
